Man Makes a Picture

Since time immemorial humankind has made pictures. South Africa is considered the cradle of humankind and San (or Bushman) paintings are evident everywhere, dating back hundreds of thousands of years. These paintings depict life as the San people experienced it on a day-to-day basis as well as extraordinary gatherings, celebrations, rituals, dramas and emotions; not dissimilar to our human stories today. And herein lies the inspiration behind MMaP– telling the diverse stories of the human condition through moving pictures.
